SendGrid is quick, effective and low cost option for sending email notifications with LeanPages. They offer free plans that allow you to send up to 100 email's per day. This is more than enough to get a sales funnel to start scaling.

Required Steps

These are the steps required to open an account with SendGrid.

  1. Create a SendGrid account
  2. Authenticate your domain
  3. Create an API key
  4. Paste your key into LeanPages
  5. Configure order notifications
  6. Test order notifications

Create a SendGrid Account

Visit to register for their free plan. This gives you all the functionalty you need for sending order notifications from LeanPages.

Authenticate Your Domain

In order for SendGrid to send email's on your behalf, you need to authenticate your domain.

  1. Login to
  2. Click on 'Settings', then 'Sender Authentication'
  3. Click on Authenticate Your Domain
  4. Select your DNS host.
  5. Answer no to the question about branding links and click 'Next'.
  6. Enter your domain name and click 'Next'
  7. Add the DNS records (or have your administrator add them) and click 'Verify'.

*It may take a few hours before DNS records update.

  1. Login to, click on settings then API Keys.
  2. Click the blue button on the upper right hand corner to create an API Key
  3. Give the API Key a name.
  4. Choose 'Restricted Access'
  5. Click on 'Create & View'
  6. Grant full Access to 'Mail Send' and 'Sender Authentication'.
  7. Click on 'Create & View'.
  8. Save your API key in a note for future referrence.

Pasting Your SendGrid API Key Into LeanPages

  1. Login to your LeanPages Account.
  2. Click on Integrations
  3. Click on the 'Configure' link bellow the SendGrid option.

Configure Order Notifications

  1. Login to your LeanPages account.
  2. Click on Order Notifications
  3. To add a new email notification, click on the green plus on the upper right.
  4. Complete the Email Sender Options
  5. Modify your notification template
  6. Add additional email addresses to receive notifications whenever an order has been placed.
  7. Click Save

Testing Order Notifications

  1. Login to your LeanPages account.
  2. Click on Order Notifications
  3. Click on the far right icon to send a test notification.
  4. Enter an email that should receive the test.
  5. Verify that the notification email was sent and looks how you like.

*There is no need to publish your website after making email notification changes.
